So I finally have the new computer to go with the new camera I got at Christmas. My old computer was so outdated it would not communicate with the new camera. I don't really have a lot of interest in learning all of the ins and outs of these new things, so very basic pics follow. Have to take on editing, but that'll have to wait!

Six and Kwik 8 Point. In the spring, our guild did a mystery quilt. I didn't care for the size, so cut the block size in half. Loved the paisley used in it, and had plenty left for my Bow Tucks. At the reveal, the joke was that I didn't have a quilt, or a candle mat, but a purse mat.

Spicy Spiral table topper, class yesterday. Love it! Not difficult, but I am glad I took the class as the directions can be a little confusing the first time through. I'll be making more of these!

Can't get the birds! My best buddy - and he wouldn't know what to do if he COULD get out there. He just knows that those little things flitting past the window somehow arouse his curiousity.

Six and log cabin. Only including this as it was my first quilt, many years ago. All fabrics were from Joanns or Wal-Mart. Yes, some have faded, but (as you can tell), it is much used, much loved, much washed - and in the sun a lot!

Your bowtuck looks like new so you must have done a superb job if you have used it daily since May. Love it and the colors - and the purse mat, too. lol. I'd like to do a spicy spiral myself, but no classes around here. Favecrafts.com has a free pattern and instructions for a Christmas tree skirt like this, so maybe I'll give it a go.

Thank you for all of the nice comments.

The bag is a Bow Tucks. You'll need the pattern, but there is a tutorial here for it. Lots of great tips. The bag isn't hard to make at all, and the directions are very clear.

The table runner is called Spicy Spiral. Although it turned out to not be difficult, I am glad I did my first one in a class. I think somebody may be considering a tutorial for that, too? Several people have made them recently.

My buddy is Six b/c when we got him as a kitten, our older DD was taking French and he has six toes on all of his feet. He's huge - close to 20 lbs., but does not know he is a cat. He believes himself to be a baby, or possibly a dog. Loves attention, his favorite positions are in my arms like a baby or lying next to me with his paw across me. DH says absolutely no more pets, so I hope we have him for lots more years!

On the spiral topper...is that cut by a wedge ruler? Or what is the tool used to get that wedged look? It is beautiful.

After cutting 8 fat 1/4's into strips of varying widths, you sew them into 4 stratas. Then, you use a 9 degree wedge ruler (you can also use a 10 degree, which will give you a larger final piece) to cut wedges, largest first. The first one is just under 19", the smallest, less than 1". The you start sewing the wedges together, smallest first, from each end. When you get to the last wedge, you have the two halves and sew them together at the widest point.

Kind of hard to describe, but not hard to do!
