The graduate evidently has a LOT to learn about us "old ladies". Rule #1 is to not call us old ladies!!!!!!!!!!! Rule #2 is to recognize that the so called "old ladies" must be quite spiffy, creative, savy with math, very knowledgeable about the color wheel, still have good eye hand coordination, and very tolerant of insulting youth. Rule #3 Studying Quilting History will be like studying a history of women and their endurance as well as their abilities to care for their families under very difficult circumstances, and in the earlier days, all of this was done without such things as electricity, indoor plumbing, heating/air conditioning, computers, cell phones, etc. etc etc. Ooooooooooh!!!! The youth of today just haven't put down their cell phones, etc. long enough to think how the "old ladies" of the past paved the way for them to become "all they can be"!!!!!!!

I really like this. I love the colors, i'm a purple lover as well, and I love modern feel to it with the geometric and simple lines (I think that may be the definition of "not old lady quilt") and I am absolutely in love with how you quilted it. It came out very stunning on the back that way!
