I feel like I'm in a constant state of needing rescuing. :?

I was sewing the binding ends together, and when I snipped an end I SNIPPED THE BORDER TOO!! I am usually so careful about such things, but not enough this time.

It'd be very time consuming to replace that border strip since it's already quilted.

I immediately put a 1/4" piece of steam a seam under the cut and pressed. Then I sewed the rest of the binding on.

Will that hold it? If not, what else should I do? I will mention it to potential buyers at the sale.

    Can you see it?

I honestly can't see it Karla. Does the package of steam a seam have laundering instructions on it? I think I would add a that information to the tag, just to make sure it stays after its purchased.

It doesn't say anything about washing--but it says it's permanent once ironed and it shows it being used on clothes.

What is this on? Is it something that would get a lot of washings? I am thinking that maybe once you do some quilting over it, it would probably be fine.

I use steam a seam all the time. I think it will be ok.

It's on a baby--toddler blanket. I didn't quilt in the borders. That would certainly hold it, but I won't dare quilt in there all the way around now... it's puffy and may pucker.

I think it'll be fine Karla. Its not noticable at all, and it sounds like the other gals have had great luck with it.

Karla, you can't see it unless you are looking for it. But if it makes you feel better you can put some appliques of teddy bears or something like that around the border.

I can see it but only because I was looking for it, it may get just a TAD fuzzy after washing, but it will not unravel or be like a big ole sore!! I promise, just make sure you ironed it real good.

I'm not one to be advising, but what I can say is what I'd do, and I'd do one of two things if it's for sale:

    1. I wouldn't offer if for sale.
    2. I'd replace the binding -- not the whole binding, just the section that was damaged. It'd be a real pain in the neck though.

If I had time, I'd replace it. If I didn't, I'd scrap it.

    That's just what I'd do.

If you really, really want to sell it without replacing it, sell it cheap and if anyone asks why, just tell them there's a small damaged spot on it and let them try to find it.
