I pulled out a lot of 2" strips and other pieces of Christmas fabrics I have had for yrs and yrs and decided to make pineapple blocks to use for potholders...I think I will like them better in another order so the colors show more and the off white polka dot shows less....maybe make sets of one of each...I just finished this block and thought I'd share...will show pic of the other combination as soon as I am done.....not sure what I will use for the back but a darker color I am sure

some asked for the pattern...it is paper pieced and I just extended the last row to go over the paper and then trimmed and I did the last two corner rows as one larger piece//

These are really pretty! I have a quilt as you go placemats that are like this. But they are not paper pieced. It is a sew and flip method. Very fun to do!

    Are they for gifts?

Yes I will make up as many as I have fabrics for and use for little gifts..I like doing Christmas fabrics for things like this so I don't have to worry about the color someone has in their kitchen...at Christmas time we can all use these colors for a few wks

Here is the other potholder block I have done..I like the colors arranged this way better...now I have 2 of each so maybe make sets with one of each to make a pair...

Sue, I really like both. In my kitchen I would make the darker ones b/c my husband cooks all the time and is a bit, ummmm, messy :D
