I wanted my last rag quilt's ragged edges to be less raggy and more chenilly. So I took a pet comb with the narrow teeth and combed the ragged edges. It was so soft when it was done. I used X's and O's as theh "qulting" on that one, since it was for a baby.

I love making rag quilts. They are easy to do and quick and when you are through it is done, no binding or finishing. I like to do all flannel or at least flannel on the back and do nothing in the middle, just a front and back layer.

I really love the colors you choose. Browns & blues are very popular now. You did a Super job!! Be sure to suggest to the one who get it, to wash it the first time in a laundromat huge washer & dryer. Otherwise the loose threads may clog up her dryer vents :-)

I have made several of these also, and love it. Most have been out of homespun fabric. I pick them up at thrift stores. Homespun fabric is usually men's shirts where the printing is on both sides of the fabric. Cost is usually $1.00 per shirt, then cut it up. A great gift for a man.
