I love your quilt and what it represents the sacrifice of our soldiers, in this instance one in particular. I went back through your posts and tried to find your orginal post. I am sorry I didn't find it.

I think what it needs is depth/dimension. The stone is as large as the pallbearers. You might want to consider having the grave open. Perhaps a dove or flag flying in the background or maybe the outline of some mourners (I am thinking shadow outlines like they did of us in grade school, not figures of real people)so that he is not so alone.

I think you are right about the depth preception. And, I like the idea of the mourners. I thought about a church and a hearse. But, I don't think I am smart enough to pull those things off. I think I have a long way to go. Thanks for your input.

I agree. there is too much open space below the soldiers. will look better with something there, like a path! otherwise looks great

When showing the white light, I'd put angels at the far end to welcome him home. The shadow of mourners is a good idea, as the focus is the young man who has passed. All good suggestions as far as a pathway for those carrying the casket to the grave, and maybe move the grave stone back and reduce the size, with an open hole in the front. Put some trees, bushes and maybe statuary around different areas of the quilt. Maybe show an honor guard to the side, with bugle and guns, honoring him for his service. I would also do a scroll and do some embroidery with details about the young man. Bless you for honoring him this way!
