Fantastic set of quilts! Your quilted border of ties designs is absolutely perfect. And the embroidery work is beautiful. They picked the right person to make these quilts and the family will cherish them and pass them down to the next generations. Bravo!

This project was very special for me. I didn't know the person who passed away, but I treated each item as if I had. I gave his wife some of the tiny fabrics scraps and buttons and put them in a little glass jar as a memento. I couldn't throw away the buttons!!! Call me a little superstitious.

No... I had washed each tie in a mild soap until they ran clear. After the quilts where finished I threw them into to wash with a few color catchers. They came out great.

The quilts came out so nice. I wish I kept my father's ties when he passed away. He had TONS of them. At my dad's funeral each pall bearer wore one of my dad's ties. I had my dh wear my favorite that was my dad's so at least I have that one. Too bad I didn't think to keep more of them.
