What an absolutely wonderful idea. This will be something that your husband will treasure for a very long time. I'm glad you were able to spend some precious time with her before she passed. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks for sharing your story. Your quilt is very special and it turned out so beautiful. I wouldn't be surprised if your DH cries when he receives it. Memories for everyone!!!

Beautiful quilt and what great memories. I hope you plan to add a small journal in with the quilt. I thought it was so nice to tell us the significance of the blocks to Marlene, I am sure it would mean a great deal to your DH to be able to read about that as well. You can make a diagram of the quilt with a corresponding number and then list out block name and why Marlene chose it for you to make.

What a magnificent treasure you have devised..... A more precious gift could not be given to your Hubby. Beautiful, sweet, memories lie within the boundaries of each and every stitch for you....as well as for him. A priceless HEIRLOOM!!! He will always remember your graciousness in caring for his BELOVED mother. And then... you tell "HER STORY" in fabric...... sewww..... she continues to live in your daily lives. Such a FANTABULOUS story!!!
