    Tough choice because I like both and the suggestion of the the board to bind is red is a good idea. Have fun and whatever you do it will be applicious!

    Decision would depend on how much quilting you want to do, on the designs you plan to quilt into each of the borders, and on how big you want the final product to be.

    Personally, I'd add that second red border, and then bind it with a deep brown (I think that's the color showing on my computer) the same as the panel's original edging.

    The first picture is "soft on the eyes" and easy to look at, but the second picture, with the wide red border really pops.
    I would add the wide red. My vote is for picture#2. Have fun creating this quilting project.
