I saw this at the Hampton Quilt show this year and it's on my list if possible for next year. It'll be a great asset to my Accuquilt. I was so impressed by it. I'm not so good on squaring up the fabric though, I still have problems with the dreaded bow.

Its not a machine. Its a board, mat and the magical ruler..Here is their site and they have video demo's.

The first thing I ever cut with mine was hexagon's. I cut a stack in a flash. It was amazing to me and that was almost 14 years ago. The ONLY thing that irks is having to order the cutting mat when it needs replaced. But they last a long time with proper care. If I'm lucky I pick one up at the Quilt Shows I go to...last one..she was out. =(
Its hard to explain the Fon's & Porter Method of squaring the fold but I will try...
Hold your fabric selvages in your hands with the fold toward the ground. If you notice..when you hold the selvage even there is a ripple in the fold. If you slide the selvage until the ripple in the fold is gone you almost never have the dreaded bow. I almost gave up on quilting until I figured this out. I found it in this book..

Thanks for the info on the squaring , since you explained it, I do that sometimes myself...just never heard it referred to in that way. Also, thanks for the ALTO info. Most interesting...maybe they'll have big sale one day! LOL,LOL

I have one and love it. It takes no effort to cut... and you get to get all the fabric cut without moving it... you move the ruler... plus it holds down the fabric so there is no chance of slippage. You can take a lot of my sewing stuff, but not my Altos.
