Years ago I found a treadle in similar condition at a junk car dealer's lot.
I brought her home and just saved the bottom part. I sanded and wired brushed the entire metal, spray painted it white and put a table top onto it for a kitchen table. It was so cute and I received many comments on it over the years. The table top has been gone for a long time, but I still have the base in my garage with my gardening supplies on it.

I agree that the wood portion is trashed...it's just too far gone. What you can do tho, is either find a cabinet maker to remake the cabinet, or simply find a nice piece of wood to put there...cutting a "hole" to fit the base of the machine. Very few machines are beyond hope... :)
