I have a top done using this technique. I'll try to take and post a picture. Just needs to be sandwiched, quilted and bound. It was fun to do once I relaxed and didn't take it so seriously.

That is just beautiful. I created a wall hanging for my home and also for my church using this technique.

About the grid, they do sell the 2" fusible grid at most large fabric stores. It is very easy to use. Cutting the squares and learning to place them are the most difficult part. Yours is absolutely beautiful.
