The most important thing is to practice and you will improve. I do colour washes all of the time, as I really love them. You've asked for an example, so I thought I would post my first one as well. I've also put in my first Grandma's Flower Garden. Keep up the effort. It will teach you a lot about colour.
I have cramped conditions so hope you get a good enough idea from the pix.

This is a real true labor of love - and art. Absolutely stunning!

Thank you for sharing.

Your quilt is beautiful. I have wanted to make one, not sure I could pull it off. Maybe someday I will give it a try.

I'd say your first attempt at a color wash quilt was a success. Love it.

Your watercolor quilt is very impressive. I love doing them also. Twinkie and jitkauu yours are very pretty too. It takes about of time to do but they always look great. I found that using the, oh gee what do you call it, the red cellophane type tool that gives you the light and dark look of your fabrics. I'll think of it. Oh boy, do I feel dumb. Anyone know what I mean? I'm not home to look at mine right now. Visiting with my little grandson soon.

Beautiful... I love how the color moves across the quilt. Makes me want to study this technique more.
