Thank you guys! And I gotta laugh - sorry, I'm a female! Mason was my beloved dog and I use his name on message boards in his honor. Real name's Allison. . . So yes, the colors are what got me started - I'm not a fan of the country look so common to most quilts, I'm looking for some more contemporary modern designs. That's why this one caught my eye. Believe it or not, can't find the pattern - but it was 6 1/2 by 2 1/2" rectangles, 2 from each pattern then a 6 1/2 by 1 1/2" for the center strips. Take 2 of the same and insert a thinner strip in between, then offset the rows (the thinner center strips are supposed to zig zag but mine don't - that was one of the major mistakes!) But I'm improving - I'll put up my next one when I'm done with it!

LOL! I thought you were a guy, too. Funny.

I am a fan of a more contemporary quilt, also, although I like vintagey stuff, too. Do you follow any of the modern quilting blogs? There are some with really cool inspirational quilts on them.

can you point me to them? I've been looking up alot of stuff, but most of what you see is very country. My husband joked that soon I'll start putting up chickens in the kitchen! Sorry, but we really dislike the country look. . but love the modern look!

Your quilt is a real beauty. I love how colorful it is and I think your border and binding are the perfect colors.

If there are mistakes, you are the only one that knows that. Anyone looking at your quilt will only see how pretty it is.

That is beautiful. I can't see a thing wrong with it. Pretty fabrics and a great pattern.
