Well, I have to tell you all about my surprise.....this week I decided that I needed to find a long arm quilter closer to my home...well, I searched the internet - and found one that is 1 hours drive from here...I made an appointment and went to visit today - to bring my next quilt to be done....and WOW!!!! I wasn't expecting to find a workshop with absolutely EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!! I don't have a photo of the fabric section of her workshop - I've never seen that many wide width goods in a quilt shop..it was crazy......I need to take more photos......and the prices are great.....What a surprise....so you know I had to shop.........Just had to share that with everyone....is there anyone else that has found a long arm quilter like that.....just curious.......
Of course it is more tough on the wallet - but still, I was born to shop :-)

I asked one of our lovely Mennonite ladies who donate blood for us when they did their hand quilting. She said that since kids were out of school in the summer time they stayed home most of the time, but when school was on, they could get away from the house and do their paid quilting for the church.

Sounds good to me, they really do keep tabs on their kids. We love them all, nice people. We asked if our wearing pants to set up the inside blood drawing area bothered them, they were cool with it. Said that everything was covered that needed it, they were used to the ways of the worldly people.

(I LOVE being thought of as "worldly", me, an old lady with my colored jeans and matching color blood bank tee shirt and tight, lace up boots (helps with a previously badly broken ankle).

that's great. We don't have anything like that around us...we live in the boonies. Our local quilting store is an hour away and the store doesn't have anything near what that one does. Congrats on your finding that store!!!

Just wanted to let you know - this is not even a local store..this is the Long Arm Quilters Studio.........which has a retail outlet incorporated into it....you should see the other half of the studio - fabrics, and more fabric...every kind of wide backing...all of the battings.....the photos cover only 1 side of the workshop....I am so glad to have found this one.......
It is about an hour from me - but well worth it.....
    I am a happy quilter today.. :-)

I love the cubed blocks she has on the frame. And, I wish we had a shop that well stocked around here.
