    Thank you to all who commented. Some answers to some questions:

    The borders are 5 strips put together cut on the straight of grain with mitered corners (which I LOVE).

    The pattern is an original design. I've been obsessed with the whole chain effect lately and am working on a log cabin design with similar effect for my younger son.

    I love the quilt. You did a great job. The colors look so calming, could be a good thing for a son I'm guessing.
