I'm no good at batting and all that fancy stitching you gals do, SO I do what I CAN do. I just put fleece or flaanel on my backs. I sew all around leaving opening. Turn rightside out, and do a fancy stitch all around (after stitching opening closed) I tie my quilts. For me its just easier. As for a seam allowance? I just use my reg pressure foot and sew with the edge of it to edge of fabric. That was I believe my 9th or so quilt? The kids says its real warm and cuddly . Fleece holds in the heat.

I can't afford batting so I just used up what fleece I had and many friends send me there scraps, so hey it works....

Bet it will be warm & cozy for them.. Lots of colors to brighten & cold a dreary day.
