I love your quilt! It looks kinda southwest too. Maybe its the colors you used that makes it resemble one. Thanks for sharing.

A finished quilt excites me!! Whether is it mine or yours!
Very beautiful. You did an amazing job and I wish you good luck.

Very good for you!!!
Well done!! I'd buy that pattern. I too get a "south-west" feeling for the quilt. I think it's the combination of orange and turquoise.
May your stitches always be straight, your seams always lie flat, and your grain never be biased against you.

Thank you so much, everyone! My DH is doing great, back home and feeling better.
The contest is sponsored by one of the big quilting magazines - Quilting Board rules on advertising don't allow me to say which one.
I do hope to publish this as a pattern after the contest ends, which will be in late October. Since I'm in the Amateur division I have to maintain that status throughout the contest. There are two more challenges to get through and I won't know the next theme unless and until I get through this round.
Thanks for all the good wishes!

Being skinny isn't easy, so I gave up and opted for being sexy instead. (aunty acid)

That little beauty gets my vote! It's gorgeous! My condolences on losing your dad & here's hoping your DH is back up to speed. Quilting certainly can be sanity-saving, can't it?

This life is the only one you get - enjoy it before you lose it.
You did a wonderful job. No matter how you fare in the contest, I'm sure this quilt will always have a special meaning to you. Please post a picture of it once you've quilted it and let us know how you made out in the contest. Thanks for sharing.
The bad news is - time flies.
The good news is - you're the pilot!
It's really beautiful. You're piecing is spot on. Well done and I hope you win!!!!
Beautiful quilt, colors go well together. Hope you win, and thanks for sharing your lovely quilt with us.

You did a wonderful job. Your design really appeals to me. I also like your color choices. Gives the quilt an almost southwest feel. Good luck in the competition.
Edited to add, I am so very sorry for your loss. I also hope your DH is doing better.
Thanks so much for all the kind words, on the loss of my dad, the health of my husband and the quilt top. My husband is back to himself which I am so thankful for.
Voting on the quilt top is taking place from now until July 8, so I won't know for a while. I'm just hoping to move on to the next round. You can always check out my blog for more info. Thanks!

This quilt is in the Professional division of the same contest I'm in. (I'm in the Amateur division) Professionals had to use a Storm at Sea block, while we Amateurs had to use the Amish Star. Didn't morelcabin do a great job?
