The chickens are raw edge applique. I plan on making 12 blocks and doing some thread painting on them when I quilt it. I'm using a new fusible product called Misty Fuse. It's very soft and light. Hoping it will be not stiff for my quilt. Usually I use Steam a Seam 2 Lite, so hoping this will work out well. The designer of these patterns included 2 patterns. One is for beginners(less pieces) and one with more pieces.

Beautiful! Were you in the Funky Chicken swap last year? I am putting a quilt of funky chickens for a mission for Nicaragua. I am going to copycat your two today. I use heat and bond, do you use something else? Would love to see pictures of a quilt put together.

Very good on the chickens, I have those patterns also but don't know what to do with them when done if ever. I have one on the same background but need to quilt it. Did you turn all the edges?

These are stunning. Is the background real chicken wire?
