I use a stiff interfacing which is sew-in. This I bought at MILL Ends store in Portland OR. It came in a 50 yard roll. I bought the whole roll on special sale one day. This one helps the bag stay upright for years. I'd be happy to send you a sample if you will PM me.

I love so many things about this bag. just the sqs alone are adorable.
the flowers are charming and love the handles. looks like something

For stiffness without too much weight or bulk, try the bosall product called In R form or similar products. It sews, quilts, washes like a dream. I am not pushing any brand just the idea of product. I have used in many bags and just love it.
