Yes, just ease back into quilting as you are able. Grief often takes a long time to overcome, especially when you were so involved in your DH's care for such a long time. Just work a little bit each day and you will make great progress. You might reach out to some friends to come quilt with you and that would help motivate you to create as well.

What wonderful quilts! When my husband was ill and in the hospital for 6-1/2 months at our local VA Hospital my quilting helped me from going crazy. You will get back into it just start with something small and go from there. The quilt that I worked on while he was in the hospital was published in the Quilters Newsletter this year it is in the latest July/August issue on page 85. Hope you get back to quilting soon!!

So sorry about your dear husband. Regardless of the circumstances, it is never easy to lose a cherished companion. I think you will find quilting very therapeutic. When you are ready, reach out to other quilters too. The quiltingboard is great for that, but nothing beats an old fashioned sewing bee. There is nothing like sharing your progress with friends. Your quilts are beautiful and I know you will have many more to show us in the future. Just take it at your own pace.

Lovely.
I started quilting to keep me busy while caregiving my DMIL. She needed more and more help as she reached the ripe old age of 95. I had her do a lot of ironing and folding to keep her busy too. We shared a lot of time together in the sewing room. I keep on sewing in part for her and when I come across a fabric I know she handled I get a smile from her. It is wonderful to have the memories and the future to look to.
Sorry for rambling on. Keep up the good work you do now and the happiness it brings to you and those around you.
peace
