Looks beautiful! No closing the door on this one so I guess you'll have to be a neat quilt maker!

Love your space! Love those old houses that were so family friendly! I know you will really enjoy working there and I agree that you deserve it after 30 yrs working. I retired after 30 yrs in Nov of 2009 and my quilting shed is almost finished....and I deserve it too!!

Love your entire sewing room!! So organized and a lovely place to make all your "creations". What type fabric did you use for your design wall? I like that it looks portable and can be taken down if needed. I am designing my future sewing room in the home we will be retiring in (son lives there now) and I definitely want a design wall, lots of storage and light. Thanks for sharing your space.

I looked at all kinds of design wall ideas but wanted something portable and also a way to hang up a finished quilt for photographing or just displaying. The fabric is a heavyweight flannel blanket...I think it is 8 oz flannel...what we called a sheetblanket when I was a kid. Ordered it from Vermont Country Store. Kinda pricey but I wanted a heavy weight and wanted something already hemmed. I turned up the bottom and slid some old yard sticks in the hem to weight it down some.
