Well, my wall hanging (my small wall hanging) actually... BUT - even though it is only 30" square it is still my third project, and it is my own design based on a line drawing from one of the Dover publications. It will be hanging along with other quilts from my guild for a month in our local visitor center. I live near the small town of Jonesborough, TN, which is the oldest town in TN and a historic site in our state. The main industry of the town is tourism - lots of antiques, artists, little cafes, beautiful farmland, AND they are home to the National Storytelling Center. Every October the the National Storytelling Festival is held in Jonesborough and visitors come from around the world to participate in storytelling competitions and to listen to the artists "spin their yarns." During October, the Old Town Quilters Guild hangs their annual challenge quilts in the visitors center for viewing and as part of the storytelling festival. This is my first year to be in the guild and my first "quilt" to display anywhere. This year our challenge theme is "Baskets" - no limitations other than a basket must be part of the design. No prizes - just encouragement for one another and providing the locals and tourists the opportunity to see some quilting "up close and personal". So - it is'nt perfect and it isn't very big - but it is mine and I'm thrilled. If any of you guys live close to East Tennessee want a road trip - come to Jonesborough. It is a GREAT place to visit with two VERY GOOD Quilt Shops!
