My Wall Hanging it Twilling
#93
Thanks to everyone for all of you wonderful comments about my Twilling,,, I do plan to enter it in our state fair quilt show... In answer to all the questions on twilling, it is an embroidery stitch, I had not seen it either until I bought the kit. The thread is a varigated pearl cotton. It is not hard to learn or I could not of done it.. It took me a year to complete the twilling, I did not work on it constantly as I have other quilting to do... If you look at the thread someone posted on here a web site that has a video and some call this the palistrina stitch,, I hope I am spelling that right...

That is absolutely incredible!! It deserves a home with someone who truly appreciates the time and work that went into it. That's an heirloom, that is.

WOW that is beautiful. I have never heard of twilling. Now I have added it to my bucket list. That is something I will have to learn to do. There is a shop here that teaches smocking. I bet she could teach me to twill. She is always up for something new. Now my brain is spinning with ideas. love it.

What a Masterpiece! Thanks for sharing, because I've now learned something new and I've been inspired. I have a celtic quilt I've been wanting to do, but didn't want to sew down a bunch of bias tape. This might just be the ticket!
Thanks again,
Tammy
