You just game me a good idea. I will be moving soon and downsizing considerably. I can use my beautiful oak horizontal filling cabinet as a ironing station. Just need to get a crafty son-in-law to cut a board of the appropriate size and to add some guides to keep it in place. Thanks for the post.

Good idea sept97 about felt on the bottom. Another idea I use for my extra table on the left side of my sewing station is put some of those moving castors under each corner. A package comes with various sizes so when in place actually kind of look like castors and they make your furniture very moveable without scratching the floor but stay in place when not being moved. Very nice ironing board idea.
