Very pretty tablecloth. I was wondering the same thing. I tried just backing but it seemed too flimsy to quilt, then I started using the thinnest batting I could find but its a bit too much for my little kitchen table. Was wondering what others have used. Wondering about flannel...

I have used very thin polyester batting, flannel & just a layer of muslin in the center of table cloths in the past. Most have the batting. My 4 th of July table cloth I used fusible batting in. All have worked fine. I have found I always have to iron the ones with batting after laundering. This one I haven't backed, quilted yet, just put it on the table to see if the overhang was what I wanted or if I wanted to add another row/ border. Decided it's a perfect fit as is so will batt, back, quilt it next. I had thought if hubby didn't like it I would have kept it growing and made a large quilt-- happy I didn't have to do that.

I think it's fantastic. I also think the center is definitely Texas wildflowers, including bluebonnets. That means it would also be great in the spring!
