Everything is just beautiful, I like the stained glass the best of all. Everyone did a great job.

the other work is by Jan the stained glass work and the quilt.

Enjoy
You know, nothing PI***S me off than the attitude that "we all look alike"!!! The "Chinese" front that you did is actually Japanese and NOT Chinese. Kimonos and Geisha hairstyles are Japanese and NOT Chinese. If you are going to go on a public forum and post such things naming races, PLEASE do not post it as if "we all look alike" so you lump us into ONE category. We are CATAGORICALLY and RACIALLY and CULTURALLY diabolically different!!!

GREATLY offended here ...

Whoa....hold on a sec there....I'm absolutely certain that there was NO intent to offend anyone with the post of the beautiful fan. I'm sure that this just hit you the wrong way at the wrong time..

Now that you have cleared up the fact that the fan actually has Japanese motifs on it vs. Chinese, maybe you could educate us on another thread about more of the differences in the cultures that you alluded to at the end of your post.

Elle...ALL the work is beautiful, thank you soooo much for sharing it and I'm really looking forward to seeing more of it!!

WHOA?! Why should "I" Whoa?! YOU Whoa! Also, why am "I" responsible for "educating you"? I recently saw a thread here where someone actually had the courtsey to ASK what the cultural differences and preferences were so as not to offend and move forward in a correct manner, THAT is being responsible and handling racial issues in an applicable manner. Don't you think that when you venture into a culture that is NOT your own, YOU are responsible for educating yourself?

I don't think anyone ever INTENDS to offend anyone else, it's the lack of thinking ahead, again, venturing into a culture that is NOT your own and making assumptions, THAT is what offends b/c the end result is ignorance manifested as you see here.

Elle, the work you and your guild put into those fans is beautiful! In my mind, I substituted "Asian" for "Chinese" - for which, I'm sure, I will get some flack, but I don't give a rat's tail! I also work with staff at my place of work who are Asian (they actually refer to themselves as Asian) and I know they would appreciate seeing your fans as I do...items of beauty!

Hapa, It seems that I need to apologise. It was me just not thinking straight, ofcourse it is Japanese.

I do not lump anyone into any category so just please calm down and accept my apology as I truly did not mean to offend you.
