Silly, silly ladies - their loss.
There is a group about 30 kms from me. A couple of years ago I went to their annual exhibition. I spoke to their "leader" admiring all their work. When she found out I machined and didn't do everything by hand she physically sniffed at me and turned her back! (Not a french lady, but English)

I'd would have had to tie my hands behind my back so I wouldn't smack her! Some people obviousily believe that if it is for charity its not worth putting your best effort in it. I think what she did was hameful :!: :
I think it is still pretty but its a shame that she just tacked a piece on on one side!

Janeen,
The quilt is soooo cute. At first I thought maybe she wanted to make one side the top, but counted the blocks are realized if that was her intention she put the strip on the wrong side :P
Hard lesson learned is all I can think of. If you stay active in the group you know to be careful and wary. We have a guild in town and they are rather particular about who they will let join. I got an informal invite but don't know if I even want to bother with them. You all are so much more fun :) :) :) :)

You did a great job on it Janeen, for all the right reasons :-)
I think it would work perfectly on a day bed, with the extra blue border to the front of the day bed - what do you say? At least it's a little 'lemonade' from her lemons!

It is such cute fabric--why would they do that?
I feel your pain. Honestly, I doubt I would help out this group again. Besides, there are many other charities that would have loved to get your quilt.
