Default Now and Later pattern

This is from a free pattern, Now and Later, and is made entirely -- except for the last few white squares and the borders -- from scraps. The purpose in using this pattern-- other than that I liked it -- was to use up scraps I had accumulated since I began quilt making. Unfortunately, it didn't make nearly the dent I'd hoped to the scrap bag.

Cutting 385 rectangles and squares was tedious but the biggest issue, for me, was color placement. The pattern image is more rainbow-like, but mild OCD kept me from mixing colors as much as I should have. Measures 77x79, a little short of the pattern size (obviously having to do with seam width). I have a jazzy "confetti" print for the back which has all the colors of the flimsy. Hope to get it sandwiched and quilted eventually. Meanwhile, I'm making Union Jack blocks, a quilt for my Irish DIL -- yes, she's Irish but likes the UK! The quadrants are paper pieced, which I taught myself to do and am kind of enjoying ....but more about the UJ later.

I had to resize this photo to get it to upload; hope it is big enough to see.

Beautiful quilt. You did a great job. I have that pattern and thought I would make it up in my "repo 30's" fabric since I have so much.

Beautiful. I can only imagine all the quilts you made that left you with all those scraps!

Love your quilt. This is also the name of my BFF's favorite candy. Hmmm...

Love it. Think that I will take a picture of your quilt and try to make one of my own. Thanks for sharing. BrendaK
