However, that isn't all so bad!
Some of the OBWs are so busy that they become a jumbled-mess IMHO. This will allow the eye a resting place from one area to the next. With the right size of triangle, I think you will find that there won't be many, perhaps none that are totally teal ... and will allow for very pretty kaleidos that are simplistically beautiful!

I made a 4 patch posey quilt using bird fabric. I ended up with a lot of "Bird Parts". Unless you are going to fussy cut ALL your fabric, you may not like all you get.

OBW by all means. Just make small triangles and I think it will make a very interesting quilt! Look forward to seeing the finished product.

It will be an exotic looking quilt - very interesting. Someone with a modern style would probably snap it up. Contrary to some other opinions, I think I would keep the parts big enough to be recognizable in this case, as in your mirrored version - otherwise it would waste the main thing that's interesting about it. I love the way the center white bird looks like a star. Maybe you could use all black or all white as background, with just a few large (fussy cut) OBW bird blocks floating on it. The quilting could then be bird shapes all over, maybe in teal thread. I'm looking forward to seeing what you decide to do!

My friend did a quilt with a bird for the kaleidoscope and she ended up calling it the murdered chicken as she had bodies with no heads. It was quite funny. So if you use this fabric be careful of how u cut up the fabric.
