    I'm not an expert, or even close to one, but I believe this is called a picture button or metal button. I would use both terms if selling on Ebay.

    Good luck!

    Now I'll have to go dig out some of my favorites and post. :lol:

    I had some picture buttons and know what those look like, they are metal or brass all the way thru, this one has a different material on the inside.

    Hmmmm, maybe ivoroid? Thin sheet of celluloid set in metal?

    i was given some old buttons from my grandmother. i decided to have 2 made into earrings. turned out the "brass" was gold. and the stone was obsidian. so you may want to have your button checked by a jeweler. pretty button--good luck!

    I have two of the buttons that are listed on the first site and she wants five dollars for them. I have better go find those Buttons!!!!

    It's an antique brass pictorial button used for decorative clothing in the 1800's here are some more in this class:)

    I can see it on a Crazy Quilt with some silk ribbon flowers around it ....... yep that would be so pretty
