An older appliqued top finished for Kay

This beautiful top had been laid aside for years before coming to life with the quilting. Kay and her daughter squared it up and tried to remove the red pencil markings used to place the applique. Once it was quilted what was left of the pencil markings did not show and Kay was thrilled with it. (I believe it was appliqued onto a bed sheet) I wish the pictures gave justice to the quilt as it is just breathtaking.

Bravo to both of you! Beautiful quilt!!
May your stitches always be straight, your seams always lie flat, and your grain never be biased against you.

What a wonderful quilt that was saved! Some would have not even tried with the red marks. The Applique is beautiful and the quilting just superb! Way to Go!

I can't imagine how exquisite this quilt must be in person when you say the pics do not do this beauty justice! It is breathtaking and your quilting, as always, is absolutely perfect for it. I love the big floral motif you scatterd about in the mussel shell (aka headbands) quilting. The motif instantly made me think of hibiscus flowers. The applique on this is gorgeous.
