Looks good! I bought the book a few years ago and some fabric but haven't tried it yet. So many patterns, fabric, and ideas. When will I get them done? Probably never, but it's still fun to dream about them.

Beautiful!!! I need to finish mine probably started 2 or 3 years ago. Love how it looks so different than the fabric you start with.

Wow! That is just stunning. I also am glad you showed a picture of the original fabric also. I also think your border choice is perfect.

Sewbizgirl, the center of the quilt ended up 48x68. Like Paintmejudy said, you need six repeats of your fabric to make the six identical sections of each hexagon. Since my fabric had a 24" repeat, I needed just about 4 yards (6 times the 24" repeat divided by 36"). A fabric with a smaller repeat will need less fabric but give you a smaller quilt; a larger repeat, more yardage, bigger quilt. You can also use six layers of two repeats each if you have fabric with a smaller repeat, but want a larger quilt. And you don't have to use all of your hexagons if you don't like some of them or you have an odd number. I had seven extras. You have a lot of latitude.
