QuiltnLady1 - I may be there someday, but for now I'm THRILLED that these blocks are a stretch for me - but except for taking a bit longer - they were no problem to do. I recently looked at what I've done and though I'm proud of all of them it's time to stretch out a bit.

Stars are wonderful. I love nine-patch blocks. In fact, when I was BOM chairman for our guild (years ago) I did all my blocks in nine-patch and called the book, "Keep It Sweet and Simple" KISS~~~~ ;) I had great participation for block swaps because they were easy and turned out so nicely. Enjoy. You will love making the Maple Leaf and Bear Paw too. You could do a whole sampler quilt with nine-patch blocks. :)

Now, that's one well-done Christmas star.

Beautiful block. Will someone be getting a quilt for Christmas??? Noticed the holly fabric in the center square.

It IS a big deal when you accomplish a block that you once thought was difficult...doesn't matter how "difficult" someone else thought the block was. I say, "way to go" "nice color choices" and "I think you piecing is very well done"...so keep going!!!!
