I would pick up the brown of the horses.

I would go with the blue. When you look at the quilt you want to see the great horse blocks. With the yellow, that's all you notice.

You have a great quilt ... and I don't feel any of your options are doing justice to what you have done and will only detract from what you already have as they aren't colours that are in the quilt.

Yes, perhaps the light blue is the background in the horse print ... can't tell from the picture here. Though even if it is, it doesn't help frame up the work as you have shown it. If it has, do a narrow (thinner than the green/gold borders) border. Then gold or green ... or do steps and use both.

Definitely the light blue, it pulls it together with the background of the horses. I don't like the yellow against the gold.

I like the blue, it pulls the blue out of the blocks nicely.

I'm a firm believer in repeating a color....the light blue picks up the shades in the horse block...I would go with that and maybe do an outer border of the chestnut brown.
Just an opinion....one of many shown here...lol.

I have a couple of questions. but first I would go with the light blue. now is the other blue sky fabric going into it also? I am not sure that it goes very well. the same with the yellow and light blue. I would try and find a greener light blue one that matches the greenblue in the horse fabric. but that is me. I would also try and get a shade of brown for the top. one of the ones in the horses. but that is just me.

I like the yellow BUT .. think the eye stays with it too long. How about a bit of the dark blue.. and then a very small amount of the yellow and also try the light blue...so you are comparing both as you have the dark blue finish border..... lay it out that way and see what happens????

If you were making it for me, I would prefer the yellow. Either will look good.

Use a 1" inner border, and a 5-6" black or Brown outer border. I know you didn't mention these colors, but they would go with the quilt far better than either the light blue or dark blue.

To me the yellow takes over and is too bright. Love the inside of the quilt.
