    think it looks real special...
    this is what gives it the homemade look..
    when you run out of a fabric & substitute another--
    like our ancestors did...
    that's what makes those old quilts look so special!

    agreed - the scale is off and doesn't show the true color of this fabric.

    Thanks everyone! I spent the evening cutting out squares using the materials I had at that moment, I will check to see if I have a darker green that might work better.

    This is going to be a table runner.

    I agree with a few others that the large floral doesn't carry the design along very well because the blocks change so much. I love TATW and I think this is going to be great! I also really, really like your floral fabric but for this particular design it may not be playing to it's strength. Could you use this floral for another quilt and find another material that "reads" more solid to take it's place? You've got a great start going! Looking forward to seeing what you decide.

    I agree with Leslie - something that reads more solid. And then use your floral for a border to bring all the colors together.
