Ok, so I picked up this white sewing machine for $20 and have it torn down. The cabinet is nice and before I tore it apart it ran stiffly but not well enough to sew.
I noticed it has the ability to be motorized or run as a treadle. Any opinions as to weather or not I should leave it electric or turn it into a treadle?

Which ever way that you will use it the most is how I would go. I have a treadle, hand crank and electric machines. I tend to use my hand crank and electric the most.
Oh.. and by the way, beautiful machine.

A serious collector would probably be aghast at the idea of 'turning it into' anything but what it was 'born as'. I know this because my husband is an antique record player and antique radio collector. Several times I have suggested that he convert one of the larger antique radio's (that don't work) into a cabinet for storage. The look of HORROR on his face - I do manage not to laugh out loud most of the time!
