I used to drive an orange pickup truck, so I like orange, but that is just plain UGLY!

Will they sell it for $700, no matter what color it is? It IS ONLY a featherweight, after all....

Some people have no respect for things of the past. I have an old feather weight and it is wired for overseas. When I first got it I was going to convert it over to us current until I found out that it was made in Scottland. I'd much rather use an adapter then change who she was made to be. Must have been some really young person who doesn't realize the value of vintage or antiques. Lately I've collected 4 old machines, 1 antique wooden sewing box and an antique quilt. I told my sister I had and addiction. Then I told her I think that it's my way of having things in my house that are older than I am and still functions really well. Just a thought.

I would have thought the person trying to sell this little gem, would have taken the time to take better pictures of it. Right now it does not look worth $700.00. I think the flash is making it look orange-er than it is. I would like to see a more professional picture of it.

Think how cool it would be to sew a quilt for Halloween with it!!!!

If it is what someone wants why is it wrong??? It is still the same sewing machine as it was when it was black or whatever color it was...maybe rust by the time this person got it. Several well respected collectors clean up old machines and professionally paint them with auto paint. So what. Not many of the ones we have are really RARE anyway, they are just old. And LOTS of people are throwing them out because they are old. Other people think they have a gold mine because it is "antique"...they are each only worth whatever we are willing to pay for them.

I have a black 301 that the stickers are almost all gone. I love that machine dearly! I have a tan 301 that I really just dont bond with...I'm thinking of getting it custom painted in a sparkly red! Why not...it will still sew the same and then maybe I will feel like it was meant to be mine :)

Everyone is certainly entitled to opinions but wow, lighten up a little and open your mind to the idea that the machine might have ended up in the dump if not refurbished and painted!
