Mareliba - the Goshen Star looks great - this is really exciting! Did you have any problems with the pattern?

I have three done, gotta get busy!
    thanks!

The pattern was actually real easy. The only problem I had was with the points on the half square triangles. They kept coming up short.

I love your avatar. What is that pattern?

My avatar is a "Mexican Stars" pattern from Southwind Quilts - dimensional quilting that looks really hard but is easy as pie. The curves are actually squares folded in half, then turned back and stitched like a cathedral window. Nine blocks total, plus borders - stunning quilt - won me several prizes including sweepstakes at my county fair and at our state Quilt Festival. Cash for quilting - love it!

Here's a link to the website for the pattern:
    http://www.southwindquilts.com/Webpa...l-hangings.htm

I thought I was the only one who had issues with the half-square triangles... I have made a practice of stitching 3/16" seams whenever I have a diagonal (scant 1/4"), then I trim the block to size after I have pressed it open. I kind of wish the patterns on Quilt Blocks Galore all had measurements to square each unit before sewing them together.

    Thanks again,
    ~D

The housewife block is olive green and sage... just in case the colors don't translate.

Yes ladies there are two different Secret Santa groups going on. Shadow Dancer is doing one and so am I. You ladies are welcome to join either one. Sorry if some of you were confused.

My deadline to join is 10/10 and we will mail gifts by 12/ 3 and open gifts on 12/14. I am not sure of Shadow's plans you need to PM her.

You better watch out Santa is coming to your town real soon!!!!!!!
