I had to take a second look because it looks so real! Where did you get that idea from?

I was going to make a shoe quilt with applique pieces. When I hunted down some shoes to make pattern pieces, I saved them. I had wanted to paint a canvas after I finished the last quilt, but suddenly thought I could cover two hobbies with one quilt...I would paint the shoes in the center of a 12 inch square! and so it began... Can't wait to do the next one tomorrow.

Love the shoes. One caution about using dotted material for the sashing and or binding. Make sure the dots are printed on the fabric randomly and not in straight lines. The random dots will help by not making the blocks look crooked like the straight dots will. (if you use the straight lined up dots, you will have to be very careful when cutting/sewing to keep them aligned with the seams. Hope this makes sense.
