All 3 quilts are made using the same pattern and you can see how very different they are. Started in 1963 shortly after we were married. Ugly quilt so stored it away to learn more. Took it out after our daughter's wedding and totally reconstructed it and completed it just before our 38th anniversary; hence the name. The pattern will be attached as a full sized download for those who want them. You assemble each block around a square - you are framing the square. When you sew the completed block together into two rows, you will see the stars forming using the corners of 4 squares.

There are 3 quilts shown, close ups of the squares on the quilt which can't be seen in the photo plus the pattern layout and full sized templates. Just thought I'd let you know in case you wanted to see everything. Thank you.

Thank you so much. I've made many quilts during my 46 + years of learning but this one is dear to my heart because it was my first and lived for so long as a UFO and I was so proud to figure out a way to make it beautiful from it's ugly duckling stage.

    Hi Grammy Patty,
I absolutely love the quilts! They are beautiful. Thank you for sharing them and the pattern. I absolutely love the colors you chose for Michelle's quilt. Gorgeous!
