Thanks all for the nice comments. I thought the pattern wasn't that hard to execute, but you do need to stay organized and focused as to your strip sets what goes where.

Is the very small border a border or is it a flap sewn between the quilt and the wide border?
Barb, thank you. It is a pieced border, I cut the strip into 1" to ended up with a 1/2" finished border, don't tell anyone, but this was a last minute design decision because I wanted to use my darkest fabric to stop the pattern before adding borders and that is the biggest border I had enough fabric for, lol. But I do like how it turned out. Thanks for taking the time to show us this wonderful technique and pattern.

I've never used a long arm, but I sure am tempted for a tee shirt quilt for my niece! I would never hand quilt that!

    Wonderful job!

Thanks Melissa. I do like that goldy fabric. I'll report on my LA adventure.

    you did a wonderful job
Colleen, it was fun and not as hard as I would have thought it'd be, just needed to make sure I am going in order and keeping my strips oriented the right direction, and if you know me ,little OCD lol, staying organized wasn't that dificcult once I got the hang of it.

I knew which color shceme I wanted, but did go for more subtle than I normally go with for this one for some reason, and deciding on the order took forever, I mean forever.

very nice, I also rent time on a longarm, you will do just fine, put on a headset and listen to music and you will stress less on being perfect.

The pattern for this Bargello was posted by our own Barb_MO here on the board in a very easy to understand directions. I am going to put the links here for the tutorial sections in the board. You basically need 11 fabrics, 7/8 yard each (I got a yard justbin case) and cut 11 2.5" strips across the WOF from all 11 fabrics. You end up with about 88 by 77 quilt before borders, I did get more yardage for fabrica I wanted to use for the borders.

Ok, start here:http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-41828-1.htm , long thread here
