Here it is Marianne. I know it's a lot of brown, but I thought that along with the pinwheels, the brown helps bring it back to the center by drawing the attention to the brown pinwheel you have there. I used 3 sizes of pinwheels and scattered them to mimic the movement of those in the center. I wanted to finish this last week, but chickened out. I was afraid the brown was too risky. Then I finally thought, "If it were my quilt, this is what I would do." I also wanted to leave things open for Lori to put on the last round. I really really really hope you like it.

Lori, I'm off to the post office. It's coming your way!

  I didn't see the feet and I thought that I was seeing shrubs on one side and house siding on the other. I have no idea what I thought the umbrella top was..

In spite of that...I love the brown...I think it adds some punch and picks up the darker bits of color working in the center and some earlier rounds. Ooohhh...just one more round for it!!

Iluv2quilt did have to drop due to circumstances beyond her control. As a group, we decided to continue her top around and it is being worked on along with the others. This IRR meant so much to her and we felt that providing her with a completed top would be a nice gift for her. For the other tops, several of us within our group are acting as substitutes in her place, so that each top will get its complete rounds. We miss her and wish her all the best.
Are we not putting up photos as a surprise to her? I'd really love to see one - maybe there out there somewhere and I missed it...

SewCornie, it does bring out the darker tones... now to figure out something to "finish" it. Hmmmm Mareliba any preferences or am I on my own?

    Thanks.

As gorgeous as the other borders are, the center had become lost among the brightness. And I guess my strategy was successful . . . as I had the last borders laid out on the floor around the quilt, my DS came into the room and said, "Hey Mom, did you know this quilt has pinwheels in the middle of it too?"
