    There are flanges between the rows of patches, so I cut binding to go around the edges to match the flanges. I am still looking for the "perfect" button so for now I put a hook and eye to keep it one the hanger!

    Wow, it looks like a very expensive designer (of which you are) original.

    I think a frog closure would look good. IMHO

    I have thought about getting one of the magnetic clasps for necklaces and using instead of a button, look at JoAnn's there are some darling clasps with real stones.
