Today I went shopping for more fabric in the right colors, and it tickled me to buy 1/8th yard cuts... for the price of a yard and a quarter, I have 10 new fabrics to play with.

I am anxious for next month's trade! lol

That is the fun part of buying fabrics for minis. I have bought 1/8 yds for along time. It is fun to make the money stretch to so many differant fabrics. A spoonful of this and a spoonful of that please! LOL

I usually buy half yds now but if it is something I know I won't use alot of I buy smaller

I pre-wash my fabrics. All those 1/8th yard cuts sure tangled up in the wash! I spent an hour last night just untangling them and ironing them flat again. I have heard of people stitching pieces together before pre-washing them, and I never before understood why they would do that... lol Now I understand!

    hugs, Jup

I dont' prewash but I know some people put them in mesh bags before washing. I suppose this might help.

When washing small pieces of fabric, I wash in a large bowl in the sink, rinse and set on towels to dry so I don't get that mess. I do this because I did it the other way before.

Good to know that there are better ways to pre-wash fabrics without all that twisting and ravelling off. I am alergy sensitive, and if I don't pre-wash, then my eyes get really red. So it is "saline drops in my eyes and pre-wash to remove shipping chemicals".
