I don't know the pattern name, but it looks like a bunch of squares arranged into the pattern - get some graph paper out and copy it.

It sends goosebumps when I find something that belonged to a relative that has since passed away.

Such a lovely quilt with historic background to it ... please be sure to record it for the future. You may not want to attach an actual label to the back, but somehow figure out how to keep the record in a sleeve or something?

a real treasure / keepsake .

Great quilt and great find! You have a real piece of the past. She would be so happy to know someone like you has it and cherishes it so much. Bless her.

Loved your story, I even had to read it to DH. That got us thinking about my quilt that was handed down to me from DH's grandmother who had to quilt it in 1920-1930's. After Christmas we are going to put in storage with our story to hand down to our children and narrow the date down better. I love your quilt. Thanks for sharing

Default Whole picture of Deaf Grandmother's hand sewn quilt and close up

Here is the best whole picture of my deaf grandmother's hand sewn and hand quilted quilt and some close ups of her hand quilting and close ups of her blocks. Yesterday I showed partial pictures of her quilt. I'm taking these pics with my iPad, excuse the bad pictures, please. I can see some mistakes in the quilt, can you? They are pretty obvious. It's nice to know that they made mistakes even back then!

It's so soft and beautiful. Not sure that there are mistakes -- everything doesn't have to be symmetrical.
