I really think my original fabric is a strong contender for the ugliest ever: Eat, Stink, and be Scary -- Shrek in garish colors.

But, with the power of the kaleidoscope cut and stitch -- voila -- beauty.

You're right...that fabric isn't the prettiest, but it sure makes a good OBW! Even the ogre isn't so bad...LOL

So it IS true! I've heard the uglier the fabric, the better the OBW. BTW, I do believe you are correct -- that is really awful fabric.

Oh where, oh where did you find such an awful thing? And why do you own it? Yikes that's almost a crime! And yet, your creativity has saved it. With the freakiness.

Hey, I deliberately bought it on a 75% off sale, knowing it would make a good transformer. The saleslady who cut it was pretty curious about what I had planned -- she knows I usually favor much prettier lines.

It's not the best quality fabric, and it was the end of bolt, with all wrinkled mess that can sometimes be, so the repeats don't all line up as well as one could wish. But I think the end result will be fun.

I almost wish I had more so I could use the original on the backing.

LOL Great improvement. For a moment there I thought you might have ended up with the death cat fabric. I don't think the kaleidoscope pattern or anything could save that one.

It always amazes me how fabric is transformed by that block. That is going to be a cool quilt.

Death cat fabric? Now I will have to do a search to find that. Sounds horrid. Stack and Whack Death Cat -- sounds like an alternative rock band.
