Cathe: Beautiful potholders and your quilting looks good too. Great job. Thanks for sharing.

    Really nice!
Wonder if I'll have time to make those with everything else I want to make

I too like the green best. (Get back everyone, it's mine! Now, a nice snarl I learned from my Dobermans, that might help! ?)

Celeste: I like the green, too but I'd take any of the 3 in a heartbeat!

NICE potholders. My best quilting friend often will make pot holders or placemats from quilt blocks that have been UFO's for tooooo long or using leftover blocks. She will then use the pot holders as prizes for bunko or gifts tucked in with somethings else.

I too want to make some pot holders just so I can practice my machine quilting. I always start with a BIG project before I'm really ready for it. I was wondering if you can use old bath towels for the batting! We all have, I'm sure, the towels that have a bad place that we just can't seem to throw away.

Don't know why you couldn't use part of a towel for batting....I have store bought potholders that are made of thick terry cloth and nothing else. sounds like a good idea too me.

I just figured that we often grab a terry dish towel instead of pot holders so it should work. Guess I'll give it a try. I can always sell them for a few cents at a yard sale!

I've used old bath towels and wash clothes for backs and padding in potholders. That Terry Cloth works great and washes really nice.
