mamajack3 11-24-2013 07:44 PM

That's so good of you. I love it.

Billi 11-24-2013 08:09 PM

Those are wonderful blocks all so different all so pretty I look forwarded to seeing them as they grow.
Thanks so much for sharing your fun group project with the rest of us.

frenchfryqueen 11-25-2013 05:44 AM

Aww.. boo! It is a great idea, Kelly. Maybe we can help you think of a solution. And of course, by we, I mean someone else. I have had no caffeine this morning, so my brain is still counting sheep. :)

Elisabrat 11-25-2013 06:12 AM

I am going to start that block of the month section round robin where we do our own there so at least there will be a way to get your favorite things done or colors or.. truly just have to write it and send it in for approval. first I have to finish a round on jabas round robin that I have going.. I have only nine more blocks to stitch together then have to stich those together and I am jazzed it will be done and think she might even like it (hope amongst all hopes). I am winding down on all my other projects no new sign ups.. so I feel a big sense of relief? maybe I can work on ufos that are driving me bonkers sitting there fillng up my bin. a whole bin of ufo's. HOW did that happen? sigh.. I know a quilting day at my house. You guys all come over and help me finish up these things.. ! what? you have your own ufo's? really? its happening all over? oh dear. should have gotten a vaccination against those things.

frenchfryqueen 11-25-2013 06:33 AM

Brat, I firmly believe UFOs have their own night scene. Maybe they meet up in the laundry room, and chat over a glass of fabric softener? Then they head back to the sewing room, and the next morning you walk into your sewing room and poof! There are little UFO babies everywhere!

Dragonfly Nana 11-25-2013 03:00 PM

LOL FFQ - Now I know where those little UFOs get in my sewing room came from....

TheMamaHauser 11-25-2013 04:38 PM

I'm down for a BOM. I have done several through the Fat Quarter Shop and then a group of my FB crew is doing the Farmer's Wife as a 4-blocks-a-month thing. I'm just astounded at how much time I have to DO things again. WOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

And yes, if you are interested in the favorite things idea, PM me. I've got a plan.

Elisabrat 11-25-2013 06:29 PM

well plans are good and darned it I knew it! I knew it! those friggen UFO's need to be FIXED then this just wouldn't happen any longer. And Kelly so glad your interested in my little fun suggestion. I wrote Patrice today to see if she would allow me to do this, I wrote to Jan for her opinion/review on my first draft of the whole thing so I can submit an actual posting to Patrice and well then we are on our way!

beautiful, very beautiful!!

Marilynsue 11-28-2013 08:01 PM

Every one of those is scrumptious! Wish I owned any one of them.

zozee 11-28-2013 08:09 PM

Outstanding?..and such variety!

zozee 11-28-2013 08:14 PM

I meant outstanding! No question about it!

Elisabrat 11-29-2013 07:14 AM

I love seeing them all together like that. Cant wait to get my round fixed on Jabas center so its not soooooo green in those corners and then it will shine like the others are. They all look so pretty and amazing the transformations from one thing to the next with each round. beautiful work ladies!

Dragonfly Nana 12-08-2013 05:45 AM

Hey gals - how is everyone doing? I am working on the cornerstones for Jaba's today - pieced butterflies.

jaba 12-08-2013 05:51 AM

That sounds nice, bet it will look wonderful. I'm just waiting for one to work on. I have Linda's and yours to go Paula

Elisabrat 12-08-2013 08:55 AM

I have the green/black/yellow quilt top to work on. I haven't been thus inspired though I did make it to the quilt store to pick up 3 different half yard pieces hoping that between the two pieces that came with it I have enough to make a round inspired by.... any ideas on what you would like to see next Melinda? I went with a brighter green and don't shoot me a dark blue batik with the colors that are in the yellow batiks tones.. there are yellow, blue, purples shooting through your yellow batik and more of your black.. so if I use it not sure if you will mind introducing one more color or want me to stick purely with the green and yellow batiks instead of the sub colors? see why I haven't started it yet, perhaps I can send you a pic of the fabrics so you can say yes I see that working or where you drinking when you went shopping? its batik who minds getting 'stuck' with that lol..

Nexxus831 12-09-2013 08:28 AM

Brat, if you could post picture of the fabric that would be great. I was hoping to stay with the green, yellow and black but I am open to see what you got. I don't want anyone to have to invest a lot of money. Your awesome Brat and I know you will come up with an awesome border.

Elisabrat 12-12-2013 04:57 AM

Nexxus I will try to take a pic of the fabric later today. I think ifyou would like to stay with the yellow green and black I can do that just tried to pick up some of the colors in that yellow batik.. trust me when I say it wont go to waste here surely sigh, I can be forced to keep the other batik .. twist my arm. :)

Nexxus831 12-12-2013 06:44 AM

Lol ok sounds like me

sue.ross.8782 12-12-2013 07:45 AM

<3 You Round Robin Quilters are astonishingly creative. I've been following you avidly in this project. Thank you for posting the quilts altogether so we can see them at once. Bravo!

Well, the butterflies did not go exactly as planned but here is what did work out. Lestrong - what do you think? Keep or try something else for the corner stones?

Elisabrat 12-16-2013 05:22 AM

personally I like those butterflies Paula :)

I have to get going on Melindas I have been un sewing inspired for a week but just got a bit back into it two days ago. I am perpetually tired these days. I will get on it Melinda promise! I have two sitting here one for my own round robin and Melindas. I need inspiration! any ideas on a block to go around next on the black green quilt?

Dragonfly Nana 12-16-2013 12:28 PM

Thanks Linda. I am still not sure about the one on the bottom right - I may redo that one but we will see what Lestrong thinks.
As for a round on Melinda's - what about the one similar to one on the cover of the book by Judy Laquidara (2nd from the left) with the triangles and squares?

If you used an all black background alternating green and yellow for the triangles (green on the outside and yellow toward my round) I think it would pull the center design back in. No need to do the black square since the background would be all black.

Elisabrat 12-16-2013 06:04 PM

her border book right? it looks a tad difficult would have to check out Jans copy to see if its something I am able to do but thanks for the suggestion. One day I will pick up a border book for sure but for now I ogle Jan's :)

Dragonfly Nana 12-16-2013 07:06 PM

sorry - I thought it was your book. You could make them as flying geese like MamaHouser did for Lestrong's. In your case you would alternate the direction.

huntannette 12-16-2013 07:21 PM

wow stunning....

huntannette 12-16-2013 07:22 PM

wow beautiful quilts....amazing!!!

Elisabrat 12-17-2013 05:29 AM

sounds like a good plan now to calculate if I have enough fabric to do this.. some patterns call for more fabric than others and I sure don't want to run out 4 inches from the end.. (done this). I love Jans books she has at least four border books and yes she shares with me so I can easily go through hers for thoughts and ideas. I would not mind owning at least one.. I will have to get her feedback on which one is the BEST one with easy instructions and fun ideas. I checked out a couple on them yesterday one was an English version of borders, simple easy ideas that actually looked pretty good.

I finished my round for Jaba but can only get a picture of half of it - just too big for me to get all in one shot. Plan to mail it home tomorrow.

jaba 12-17-2013 06:33 PM

Oh Paula I'd love it, if it was mine :) I love butterflies

Dragonfly Nana 12-18-2013 03:49 AM

Oops - I did type Jaba didn't I. I know it belongs to Lestrong - sorry about that.

Lestrong601 12-18-2013 07:39 AM

Paula, I am blown away. All of you ladies are so talented. Thank you. Will post pics when I get it finished. Now back to sewing I go. All have a Blessed day.

Elisabrat 12-18-2013 03:07 PM

oh that is a stunning finish dragonfly! wowsa. love those scallops and butterflys! your so incredibly creative. Am I the only one here who does not have a border book? if you have one which one is your favorite and which ones do you think are not so great and why? (saving money here going to buy only the "best" one)...

Dragonfly Nana 12-18-2013 04:23 PM

Thank you Lestrong and Brat....glad you like what I did.

Brat - I don't have a border book either, but I have asked Santa for one. I used the 5 minute block to make the scallops for this one.
