You met the challenge head on! It turned out beautiful. I love the flowers. Maybe a little weave in the basket would be all that I would do to it. Its great!

That looks awesome..

I like it. Great flowers. I agree with KittyD - cross hatching would give a little more dimension to the basket.

So creative! Love it!

2 photos of ideas given to me to achieve the basket weave look

I auditioned the ric-rac and decided it was too busy looking. I decided to quilt the cross-hatch to achieve the basket weave look for the flower basket. Thanks for all your great ideas to try out.
I may rearrange the flowers at a later date to allow the basket handle to show up clearer. I appreciate everyone's input. |

I hung the basket quickly. I will re hang with command strips after the challenge reveal.

Great job on the challenge, really like the cross hatch idea and I put beads on everything.

[QUOTE=copycat;6934592]After receiving the magazine page and looking at the ad for paint, I was inspired to do a project about color: Mother nature's colors of Flowers in a Basket.
After ideas from you smart and talented quilters, I am going to rearrange the flowers so the handles of the basket show....and it doesn't look like a plate.:) I also plan to follow the advice of using ric rack to give the basket dimension. Oh I wouldn't change a thing. I don't think your design looks like a plate, I think it represents the top of the paint can. You did a great job of interpreting the advertisement. |
